Don't go breaking my Heart Evaluation

Video and Evaluation

This is Me and Dorcas' don't go breaking my heart lip syncing. This song was sang by Elton John and KiKi Dee who are extremely famous for creating this song. Elton john is the third most successful american charts Artist behind Elvis Presley and the Beatles. KiKi Dee was also a very popular artist at the  time when don't go breaking my heart was released.

Dorcas was really hard working when she done this music video and she also done a great job with the lip syncing. On the day when she completed this I was not on so I was very pleased that she was able to complete it by herself. At the same time I was trying to complete the other lip syncing video which was quite difficult also because we didn't have much camera angles to work with.

Music Videos - Added Value

Music Videos - Added Value

Primary Functions of a music video?

  • To showcase the new Artist.
  • Promote the new Artist.
  • Advance sales; Itunes, Spotify, Youtube, Cd's
What ways do these videos add value to the song?

This song is called 'A-ha - Take on me'.  I think that this video adds value because the it makes the view interested in the story line. Although, most of the video is hand drawings, and a mixture of real life scenes. This makes the video more interesting and the story line is easy to follow.  Also this the part at the end of the video where 'Morten Harket' goes in and out of being himself into a drawing of himself, this effect is very complicated to do but it is very eye-catching to the audience. I also took back some audience feedback when watching this video and they said "watching the video was intriguing because of the story line". Some others said "before they knew it they was singing the song because it was so exceptional.

This song is called 'Sinead O Connor - Nothing Compares 2U'.  I think that this video is one of a kind, very memorable and beautifully presented. Although, with most videos they have complicated scenes this just has  beautiful face and some scenes of Paris."Nothing Compares 2 U" is a song originally written and composed by Prince for one of his side projects, the family. It was later made famous by Irish recording artist Sinead O'connor whose arrangement was released as the second single from her second studio album, I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got. This version, which O'Connor co-produced with Nellee Hooper , became a worldwide hit in 1990. A music video, which has been described as iconic, was shot and received heavy rotation on MTV. Its lyrics explore feelings of longing from an abandoned lover's point of view.

Sonny and Cher video and evaluation

To evaluate, this lip syncing exercise was to play a song from Sonny and Cher (i got you babe). We did struggle a little with our footage not being able to upload on the computer and so we had to make do with the footage which we had. I edited this video by myself because Dorcas filmed the other lip syncing video. This things which I found was that we hard to deal which was the fact that in some of the scenes the lighting was a bit difficult to deal with.
In addition, the things I thought went well was being able edit the video using premiere pro because I have used it previously when I edited my thriller sequence in year 12. I also have used the previous digital equipment so I had the ability to use the camera effectively. With this lip syncing exercise we didn't really have much issue with syncing into the music and we haven't yet had experience with doing that.

My team production!

For this task I am going to be working with Dorcas. I have worked with her  in AS Media Studies and we worked well together.

Dorcas is a very bubbly person and she loves to enjoy herself. She's always singing gospel songs in lesson and dancing, but she always gets on with her work and it eventually turns out perfect. This is why i am working with someone who can enjoy themselves but also work with all their effort. Her strengths are defiantly  coming  up with brilliant ideas and sometimes directing but mostly we work together with this.

Myself, I am a very quiet but i also am very active when it comes to editing and filming with our music video.
